Zeb Lawrence Feimster

Mr. Zeb Lawrence Feimster, 94, of Statesville, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on November 26, 1922, he was a son of the late Austin Lonnie Feimster and Dovie Shoemaker Feimster. Mr. Feimster was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed gardening and wood working. He retired from Southern Screw Company. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Nellie Southers, Mary Lee Shoemaker, Ada Ward, Lonnie and Clyde Feimster. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret Souther, whom he married on October 30, 1942, two daughters, Mrs. Shelbie Higgins and her husband, Kenneth of Galax, Va., and Mrs. Carol Sipes and her husband Wesley of Statesville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Brad Hayes (Kim), Heather Baldwin(Steven), Chris Sipes (Amber) and Justin Sipes (Elizabeth) along with eight grandchildren: Sally and Will Hayes, Luke and Hunter Baldwin, Kerrigan and Parker Sipes and Chloe and Harper Sipes and several nieces and nephews. Services celebrating Mr. Feimster’s life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darrin Johnson and Rev. William Wease officiating.  He will lie in state and the family will receive friends in the church sanctuary for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
