THOMASVILLE-William "Weazel" Boyden Gillaspie, Sr. age 79, a resident of Thomasville, died February 11, 2021, at his residence. William was born January 22, 1942 in Forsyth County. He has been a resident of Davidson County since 1959. He was employed with Thomas Built Buses, Inc. for 43 years and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement since 2006. He enjoyed racing (as a driver in his younger days and as a spectator in his life), fun competition fishing with his wife, and his passion of restoring hot rods. On November 18, 2000 he and Rhonda Sue Gillaspie (Ramsey), who survives in the home, were married. Also surviving are his children, William B. Gillaspie, Jr. (wife Tammy) of High Point, NC, Sandra K. Bolds (husband Ronnie) of Las Vegas, NC, Matthew J. Ramsey of Cary, NC, Luke A. Ramsey (partner Jeanie Hollman) of Lexington, NC; sister, Dorothy Stein of King NC; sister in laws, Linda Shockley (partner Rodger) of High Point, NC and Marie Doute (husband Timothy) of Morristown, TN. William had 10 grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Whitney, Keshia, Marilyn, Kyalie, & Karlie Bolds of Las Vegas, NV, Olivia Gillaspie of Trinity, Logan Gillaspie (wife Jenni) of Graham, NC, Ryleigh & Holden Ramsey, & Brayden Beck of Lexington, NC . He also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much! And of course, his beloved fur children, Xavier, Bailey, Kennedy, & Duke and all his little critters (Acrobat and family) in his back yard. In addition to his parents, Boyden C. & Willie E. Boger) Gillaspie, William was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Bradley and Corrina Williams, three brothers, Melvin, Johnny & Terry Gillaspie. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, 2-15-2021 from 6-8 pm; funeral service will be Wednesday, 2-17-2021 at 1 pm; both will be at Wellspring Community Church, 600 May Road, Thomasville, NC with Reverend Christy Brubaker officiating. Friends and family may call on family other times at the residence. The family is requesting friends and family to share any good memory they may have and would like to do so, after the eulogy. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
