William Leroy Gibson

William Leroy Gibson, age 76, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. William (Bill) Leroy Gibson was born on November 21st, 1945. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14th, 2022.
Bill graduated from Scott’s High School and Wayne Technical College. He was employed with Hubbard Farms until he retired in 2008.
Bill was preceded in death by his precious angel Amy Gibson and his parents, Alfred and Cora Gibson. Bill was an avid fisherman, specifically at the coast with friends. He loved sports and anything related.
He leaves behind his loving wife Joyce Shaver Gibson of 56 years; son, Andy, and wife Wendy Gibson; granddaughters, Emily Gibson, Anna Gibson, and Grace Cartner; his sisters, Alene Lippard, and Alice Redmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Bill’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Mt. Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Fox officiating. Burial will follow at 5:00 pm at South River Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mt. Road Baptist Church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Hal Gibson, Harry Gibson, Scott Wilson, Arnold Weatherman, Kenneth Redmond, Joe Redmond, and John Weatherman.
