THOMASVILLE-Mr. William "Bill" Paul East, age 83, made his journey home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at Pine Ridge Nursing facility in Thomasville, NC. He was born on March 27th, 1938 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Paul and Daisy Johnson East. Bill graduated from North Forsyth High School and began working at R.J. Reynolds in Winston-Salem. He retired at the age of 55 and began to travel to places he always wanted to see, such as Hawaii and Nova Scotia. He enjoyed traveling to antique sales and flea markets and loved finding a cherished treasure at these events. One of his favorite phrases as he entered restaurants was "Chicken on the bone, all day long". Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Eugene and George East. He is survived by his daughter Jill Riggsbee. Special thanks to Northpoint Assisted Living in Archdale, Hospice of Davidson County, and Pine Ridge Nursing Facility for caring for Bill in his later years. And to all of his friends at various restaurants and dance clubs who reached out and befriended Bill during this journey called life, we thank you. "Chicken on the Bone" has made his journey home, where I am sure there will be an abundance of fried chicken, fellowship, and joy with a Father who loves His children abundantly. Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
