William Coolidge “Docker” Harris, 92, of Harmony, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Autumn Care in Mocksville. Docker was born in Iredell County on March 5, 1925, and was the son of the late Elias H. Harris and Mary Pink Galliher Harris. On April 12, 1952, he married Lois Mae Safriet and together they shared 65 years of marriage until his death. Docker retired from Kewanee Scientific after 25 years where he worked as a cabinet fitter. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and served as deacon for a number of years. Docker was a man who loved wood working, especially cabinetry work. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Harris, a sister, Nola Malcolm and a half-sister. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois, a daughter, Diane H. Shoffner (Roy) and a granddaughter, Angela Michelle Shoffner, all of Harmony along with a sister, Daisy H. Warren of Statesville. He is also survived by several half-brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services honoring the life of Docker Harris will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2017, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Gwaltney and Rev. Jason Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Online condolences can be made to the family at
