William Robert “Bobby” Estes, 70, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at his home. Mr. Estes was born in Iredell County on February 7, 1945, and was the son of the late Robert Lonnie Estes and Lydia Belle Ellis Estes. He was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School and on August 5, 1984, he married Gerry Cloninger Estes who survives. His working career was primarily in business management. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Susan Estes. Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife of 31 years, Gerry Estes are three daughters, Melissa Estes Allen (Keith), Angela Estes Moore (Curtis), and Kari Kerr Lindeman (Jon), all of Statesville along with one son, Travis Wyckliffe Kerr (Katrina) of Mooresville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Stroud, Benjamin Watts (Crystal Duke), Aubrey and Ty Lindeman, Camden, Ellie, Perry, and Lanie Kerr, and Elianna Allen; three brothers, Nathan Estes (Pat) and Neil Estes, both of Statesville and Darryl Estes (Patty) of Washington State and one sister, Sharon Brown of Statesville. He is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Dustyn, Bryden, and Cayden Stroud. Four nephews, Matthew Brown (Tammy), Cole, Andy, and Timmy Estes (Venessa), two nieces, Kylee DiSalvio and Amanda Tutterrow (Adam) along with four great-nieces Amity Tutterrow, Ava, Lilly, and Harper Estes and one great-nephew, Aiden Tutterrow also survive. Bobby had a profound obsession with McDonalds coffee and a love for shrimp. He loved spending time with Gerry in Virginia Beach and would vacation there twice a year. He enjoyed the outdoors. He would spend time at his lake and enjoyed working in his garden and mowing. He had a love for flowers that was passed down from his grandmother with a firm belief that flowers were meant to be enjoyed in life rather than in death. A memorial service celebrating the life of Bobby Estes will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2016, at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Scott Eanes officiating.
