William “Bill” Noah Sigmon of Statesville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2017. He was born June 1, 1931 at Long Island in Catawba County to the late Preston Logan Sigmon and Myrtle Kale Sigmon. After graduating from Sherrills Ford High School in 1950, Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church in Statesville. He loved gospel music and for many years, he and his family, “The Sigmon Family” sang in many churches. He loved his faithful wife Mary Jo, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Floyce Brock, Merle Brown, and Louise Barker. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Mary Jo Robinson Sigmon; children, Vickie Bowman (Jerry), Donna Keaton (Blain), and Buddy Sigmon (Joanne). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Laura and Joseph Keaton, Preston, Amelia, and Parker Sigmon along with three great-grandchildren, Brady, Davis, and Tessa Keaton. Many special sister & brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews also survive. Funeral services honoring the life of Bill Sigmon will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, October 2, 2017, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Blain Keaton officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Concord Methodist Church Cemetery in Long Island.
