Wilferd D. Johnson, 60, of Olin, NC. passed away on January 3, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House. Wilferd Johnson was born in Iredell County on April 3, 1950 and was the son of the late Florence and Paul Johnson. Wilferd was a dear husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is a graduate of North Iredell High School and was self-employed in his concrete finishing business, Johnson's Concrete, and retired in the year 2000. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lois A. Johnson of the home in Olin. He has one daughter, Jennifer Johnson (Tom Carina) of Harmony and one son, Wayne Johnson (Debbie) of Harmony. He has three wonderful grandchildren, Nikki Carina, Olin Johnson and Cooper Johnson who loved him very much and will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters. Donald Johnson (Betty) of Statesville, Peggy Parris (Phillip) of Mt. Airy, Florence Ann Rogers (Blake) of Stony Point, Woodrow Johnson (Debbie) of Statesville, Cathy Hartness (Denny) of Stony Point, Cynthia Winebarger (Jerry) of Stony Point, Paulette Johnson of Claremont, and Nancy Smith (Fred) of Stony Point. He is also preceded in death by one brother (Ronald Johnson) and a nephew (John Paul Smith). He also leaves behind a wonderful and devoted pet dog. Bonnie. Wilferd was loved by many and leaves behind so many special friends that will forever miss him. At his request Wilferd will be cremated. We will receive friends at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm and a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm.
