Wilbur Howard Gaither

Mr. Wilbur Howard Gaither, 90, of Harmony, passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Gaither was born December 8, 1926 in Guilford County, NC to the late M.M. Gaither and Ellen Kidd Gaither. He was a graduate of Harmony Schools and on March 27, 1948, was married to Fannie Snow Gaither, who survives. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and was retired from Clark Manufacturing. He was also a member of the Woodman of The World 999. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry Gaither (Debbie) of Charlotte, Dean Gaither (ToniAnn) of Statesville, two grandchildren, Tori Dee G. Cearlock (Brian) of Statesville, James Gaither of Charlotte, two great grandchildren, Autumn and Alex Cearlock of Statesville and one sister, Mary Alice Hughes. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Gaither, W.D. Gaither, Roy Gaither and one sister, Ruth Cain. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 pm.
