William Wayne Nixon, 76, of Troutman, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015, at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Nixon was born in Iredell County on February 9, 1938, and was the son of the late William L. and Lucille Victoria Compton Nixon. He attended Troutman High School and on October 13, 1956, he married Doris Miller Nixon, who survives. He was a member of Mt. Mourne Church of God and he was a truck driver for over 50 years and finished his driving career with CSI Trucking. He was a true truck driver in every sense of the word and was a man who never met a stranger. He was a man of strong faith who loved his family, which was always first in his life as well as his friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant son, William Worth Nixon, a brother, Dale Nixon and sister, Shelia Nixon. Along with his wife of 58 years, Wayne is survived by three daughters, Debbie Nixon Bass (Kenny), Gail Nixon Jones (Billy), both of Troutman, and Joan Nixon McCord of Wilkesboro and one son, Phillip Wayne Nixon of Troutman. He is also survived by two grandsons, William Buford Nixon of Love Valley and William Andrew Jones (Emily Day) of Troutman and one granddaughter, Anna Elaine McCord of Wilkesboro. One great grandson, Connor Kelis of Love Valley and one sister, Peggy Poole of Troutman also survives. Funeral services for Wayne Nixon will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Mt. Mourne Church of God with Rev. J.C. Souther, Rev. Lawrence Owenby, and Rev. Donald Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery in Troutman. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.
