Walter Franklin Manier, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at his home in Trinity, North Carolina, on January 24, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on June 9, 1957, in Johnson City, Tennessee, Walter lived a life marked by faith, family, and hard work.
On August 11, 1978, Walter married the love of his life, Nora Cardwell, in Gaffney, South Carolina. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Mary Hinesley and Susie Sellers. Walter was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Walter was the owner and operator of Manier Roofing for over two decades, where he was known for his integrity, dedication, and craftsmanship. At the age of 28, he accepted Christ as his Savior, a decision that profoundly shaped his life. He was an active member of the Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church in Thomasville, NC, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship.
In addition to his work and faith, Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and watching movies. He was also the founder of Walter F. Manier Ministries, through which he sought to spread the message of hope and salvation.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Athleene Baldwin Keene; sisters Frances Ward and Linda Clingenfield, Francis Cable, Sylvia Bell; and brothers Wayne Keene, Gene Keene, Balfour Keene, Russell Keene, Allen Manier, Billy Manier, Richard Bell Junior Bell, and Jimmy Manier.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nora Cardwell Manier, of the home; daughters Mary Hinesley of Trinity, NC, and Susie Sellers (Josh) of Trinity, NC; grandchildren Isaiah, Seth, Macy, and Malachi; brothers Larry Bell (Linda) of Michigan, Don Keene (Mary) of West Virginia, and Eddie Keene (Michelle) of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters Christine Gunn of Johnson City, TN, and Carolyn Blevins of Kernersville, NC; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on January 29, 2025, at Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church in Thomasville, NC. Interment will immediately follow at Bible Revival Ministries Center in Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 PM on January 28, 2025, at Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church.
