Virginia Malenda Sipe Parks, 88 of Statesville passed away Friday May 23rd, 2014 at Maple Leaf Nursing Center. Mrs. Parks was the daughter of Lawrence Hubert Sipe and Novella V. Watts Sipe who preceded her in death. Mrs. Parks was born in Catawba County and was a resident of Statesville where she attended and graduated from Cool Springs High School. Mrs. Parks was a Statesville Realtor. She also attended Diamond Hill Church where she was a charter member and held the organist appointment from the age of twelve years old. Mrs. Parks was also preceded in death by her brother Clayton Allan Sipe. Mrs. Parks is survived by her daughter Virginia Jo Campbell (Dallas) of Statesville, granddaughter Ashley Nicole Campbell of Statesville, two brothers Jimmy A. Sipe (Betty) of Florida, and Eddy Sipe (Debby) of Statesville along with numerous nieces and nephews. A family visitation will be held Monday May 26th at Diamond Hill Baptist Church from 10:00 AM. until 11:00 AM. with Funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Officiating the services will be Rev. Larry Holleman and Rev. Carl Williams. An internment service will be held the following day, Tuesday May 27th at 10:30 AM. at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 2320 E. Broad St., Statesville, NC. in memory of Mrs. Parks. Online condolences may be made at nicholsonfunerals.com.
