Virgie Lambeth Hughes

Virgie Lambeth Hughes, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, in Lexington, North Carolina. Born on February 9, 1943, in Asheboro, North Carolina, Virgie was a cherished figure, known for her loving nature and deep faith.
Virgie was the daughter of the late Ruby Virda Hughes Lambeth and Jacob Lindsay Lambeth. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, William Luther Hughes, and their son, Timothy Hughes. Virgie is survived by her two brothers, Odell Lambeth and Oscar Lambeth; and one sister, Vida Allred. Virgie is preceded in death by her sisters, Verlie Presnell, Vera Varner Cunningham, Ruby Lambeth, Arlene Lambeth, and brothers Olan Lambeth and Oliver Lambeth.
She was a lifelong resident of Davidson County and was deeply rooted in her community. Surviving Virgie is her loving daughter, Tammie H. Garrett, and son-in-law, Pete. She was a proud grandmother to Emily Self (Chad), William Garrett, D. Tyler Yates, and Tiffany Hughes. Virgie was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Joseph, Laci, Jackson, Anya, Madilyn, Aurora, Hailey, and Kira. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Clarksbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend David Lambeth officiating. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonadvantage.com .
