Trudy Kay Sharpe Horton, 70, of Statesville, died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Trudy was born in Iredell County on June 14, 1948 and was the daughter of the Viola Sharpe Daniels and the late Grady Daniels. She attended Troutman High School and she was a member of Living Word Ministries.
While her health allowed, Trudy worked with Lowes Home Improvement in the garden center.
Trudy was a joyful person. Her delightful demeanor and smile would light up a room. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they will miss her dearly.
In addition to her dad, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Larry Horton and a sister, Sandy Waugh.
Along with her mother, she leaves behind her three daughters, Tammy Hubbard, Tracy McClain, and Tonia Horton (Quentin) and four grandchildren, Jonathan Hubbard (Kim), Tiffany Ottone (Josh), Devin Anderson and Paki Anderson. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Zaylee, Zyler, Zayda, and Zyla Ottone and one niece, Crystal Daniels (Todd Benfield) and one great niece, Hollie Benfield and one great nephew Nick Benfield. A longtime friend, Eddie Odom also survives.
A memorial service honoring the life of Trudy Horton will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2019 at Living Word Ministries with Pastor James Lewis officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the memorial service.
