THOMASVILE-Mr. Timothy Jay Hunt, 62, passed away at his home February 15, 2021. The son of the late Artie and Margaret McNeil Hunt, Mr. Hunt loved working on cars and was a mechanic for over 40 years. He honorably served our country for 17 years in the Army Reserves and Army National Guard. He loved spending time with his family and thoroughly enjoyed his motorcycle trips with his wife. He had a passion for racing, spending many hours at the Rockingham Drag Strip. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunt is preceded in death by his brother Billy Ray Hunt and sister Carolyn Fay Small. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Kathleen Tallent Hunt and canine companion "Babygirl" of the home, son Jeffery Kanoy McPeak of Lexington, daughter Amanda Leigh Hunt and Dale of Thomasville, sister Brenda Kay Hunt of Greensboro, seven grandchildren Courtney McPeak, Kailey Angel, Brittany Kanoy Graham, Camryn Leigh McPeak, Anthony, Taylor, and Kevin Hackett, and eight great-grandchildren Audrie Small, Madalynn Small, Peighton Small, Braxton, Braydon, Savannah, Levi, and Natalie. A memorial service for Mr. Hunt is scheduled for 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Wayside Tabernacle Freewill Baptist Church, 3035 Upper Lake Road, Thomasville, NC with Pastor Jimmy Garrett officiating. The family extends a very special "thank you" to Courtney McPeak for her sacrificial love and caregiving for Mr. Hunt.
