Thelma W. Wilson, 96, passed in peace on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Thelma was the beloved matriarch of her family. She was a woman of strong and unwavering faith. She led by example, extending compassion, forgiveness, unconditional love, and grace to all who knew her. She took pride in her family and cherished time spent together. In her 96 years, she managed to shape the lives of her family in incredible ways. She will forever be cherished, and her family will rejoice when reunited again.
In addition to her parents, George Rufus Woods and Annie Davis Woods, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Gaither Shaver; her second husband, James King Wilson; her granddaughter, Amy Gibson; her siblings, Roy Woods, Hazel Little, and Nora Daniels; her sons-in-law, Bill Gibson and Robbie Pharr. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mickey Paul Shaver (Nancy), Joyce Shaver Gibson, Holly Wilson Whitaker (John), and James Scott Wilson (Gidget); grandchildren, Andy Gibson (Wendy), Brittany Hincher (Michael), Chessney Wiles (Joshua), Lindsay Pharr, Abbey Newton (Steven), Joshua Wilson (Abby), Dustin Wilson, Kevin Shaver (Carter), and Ben Shaver; great-grandchildren, Emiley Gibson, Anna Gibson, Brayden Hincher, Westen Hincher, Dallas Wilson, Garrett Wiles, and Tilly Wilson; and her special niece, Candace Daniels.
