Thelma Maxine Brannon Lapish, 80, of Statesville, passed away Friday February 1, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House.
Maxine was born in Gastonia NC on April 12, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Earl and Grace Brannon.
She was retired from Hunt Manufacturing and the former Boulevard Grocery & Grill in Statesville. She enjoyed working in her garden and canning fresh vegetables. She loved family reunions, playing scrabble with her sisters, and any reasons to cook for someone. Her meatloaf was a favorite among many.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her former spouse Leon Lapish, two sisters Ruby and Paulette, along with two brothers Homer and Donald and a special little girl.
Left to honor her memory are two sons Craig Lapish (Karen), Dana Lapish (Angie) and two daughters Kelly Lapish Earnest, and Candace Lapish. Two granddaughters Stephanie Lapish Slane (Kelly) and Kaylee Lapish (Dana). Two grandsons Kohl Lapish (Dana) and Jason Burton (Craig). Two great grandsons Draven Slane (Stephanie) and Tyler Burton (Jason). Five sisters Rachel, Lena, Harriet, Rhonda, and Sobey. Two brothers Bruce and Gaither. She is also survived by her special nieces, nephews and forever remembrance by family, friends, and her extended Ohio family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday February 16, 2019 at Western Avenue Baptist Church’s fellowship building from 2:00-4:00 PM.
