Terri Leigh Elks, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 23, 2023,  at Hospice of Davidson County. She was born on December 21, 1966, in Prince George Virginia to her parents Douglas Farold Elks and Norma June Dixson Elks.

Terri's warm heart and compassionate nature touched the lives of those around her. Her love for animals was unparalleled, and she dedicated herself to their wellbeing as a Certified Wildlife Rescuer. Terri found solace in being able to help creatures in need and brought hope to countless innocent lives. Among all animals, cats and horses held a special place in her heart.

Driving and traveling were not just hobbies for Terri; they were an expression of her adventurous spirit.  Every journey she embarked on was an opportunity for personal growth and connection with the world around her.

Terri's presence brought joy to every gathering she attended. Her vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered as she effortlessly spread laughter and kindness wherever she went. It was in these cherished moments that her light truly shone brightest.

In times of sorrow, Terri drew strength from her loved ones. She shared a deep bond with her family, She is preceded in death by Jane A Vance (sister), Terri will be dearly missed by those who survive her: Stephanie D. Whitehead (sister), Nelson T. Whitehead (brother-in-law), Catherine Vance Hull (niece), Connie Vance (niece), Carrie Vance (niece), Melissa Vance (niece), as well as her six great nieces and nephews, along with her four great-great nieces and nephews.

Although Terri has left this earthly realm, the memories of her infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her. She taught us the importance of compassion, perseverance, and living life to its fullest.

Terri Leigh Elks has left an indelible mark on the lives she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful legacy she has left behind. May her soul find eternal peace and may we always remember her with love and gratitude. In lieu of Flowers please make donations to Hospice of Davidson County in Thomasville, North Carolina and to The Richmond Animal League in Midlothian ,Virginia.
