Ted Templeton

Theodore "Ted" R. Templeton, Jr., 77, of Troutman, passed away, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Templeton was born April 1, 1934 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Theodore R. Templeton, Sr. and Nomarie Cash Templeton. In 1952, he graduated from Troutman High School and in 1953 was married to the late Ruth Deaton Templeton, who passed away in May of 2009 after 55 years of marriage. He was retired from Bartlett Milling and was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church, serving as an usher and was part of the Jolley Seniors. Mr. Templeton also was a member of the Campbell Masonic Lodge #374 in March of 1962. He became a 3 degree on November 10, 1962, Master in 1966, Secretary from 1967-1983 and was active in the lodge till this past year. He was a founding member of the Iredell Photography Club in 1985 and served multiple terms as President, Vice President and was currently the Treasurer. He was the representative for the club on the Iredell Arts Council for many years and also won several awards for his photography. Mr. Templeton is survived by one son, Ron Templeton and wife Gail of Durham, one daughter, Diana T. Robinson and husband, John of Troutman, five grandchildren, April Mariage (Tony), Anthony Campbell (Anastasia), Amber Evans (Brandon), Amanda Myers, Kevin Templeton (Malinda), sic great grandchildren, Mary, Lydia, Grayson, Anya, Seth, Ella one brother, Jim Templeton (Peggy) of Newton a beloved cat, Prissy, a sister-in-law, Mary Frances McNeely, a brother-in-law, Pleasant Paul Deaton (Jackie) and four step-grandchildren, Laura Lucas, Julie Barker, David and Melissa Robinson. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Doub and Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church and at other times the family will assemble at the home of Diana and John Robinson, 127 Parkstone Dr., Troutman. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Campbell, Kevin Templeton, Brandon Evans, Tommy Gardner, Phillip Miller and Christopher Sharman. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Campbell Masonic Lodge #374 and the Iredell Photography Club. Memorials may be made to Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
