Sylvia "Sib" Benfield

Sylvia “Sib” Fox Benfield, 84, of Statesville, died Friday, November 22, 2019, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Iredell County on November 30, 1934 to the late John and Lona Shumaker Fox.
Sylvia was a fun-loving person who enjoyed helping others and talking to people. She really liked her crossword puzzles, taking walks, reading and drinking coffee. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Dee Andrews (Scott) and Melanie Bottoms, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Matt Reavis officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
The family requests that no flowers be sent, but that memorials be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.nicholsonfunerals.com . Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the Benfield family.
