Steven Jarett Hamm, 20, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 24, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Steven was born February 17, 1997 in Iredell County and was the son of Fred Emery Hamm (Tamara Hamm) of Statesville and LeeAnn Gagean (John E. Gagean) of Cleveland, NC. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and currently was working with Lowe’s Distribution Center. He loved to fish, play sports, play video games, his friends and the Miami Dolphins. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brian Hamm of Cleveland, Joshua Hamm of Cleveland, a step-brother, Ian Smail of Statesville; paternal grandmother, Dorothy West (Clay) of Taylorsville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Westminister Church of God with Rev. Aaron Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
