Sharon Johnette Bivens, née Winkler, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 75 in her cherished hometown of Davidson County, North Carolina, where she was also born on April 3, 1949.

Sharon dedicated over two decades to her work as a cook in the education industry, where she not only nourished bodies but also fostered warm memories and lasting friendships. Her passion for the culinary arts was just one facet of her vibrant life.

A true artist at heart, Sharon's love for arts and crafts, writing, and painting added beautiful colors to the lives of those around her. She spent countless joyous moments shagging at the beach, casting her line while fishing, and relishing time with her beloved family and pets. Sharon's life was a testament to her deep love and commitment to her family, which she cherished above all else.

Her spiritual journey was marked by a profound faith; she accepted Jesus into her heart 25 years ago, finding comfort and peace in her Christian beliefs.

Sharon is preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Alma Winkler. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion embodied by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert (Frankie) Bivens, and their children: daughter April McNeil (Chucky), son Shane Walser, and daughters Shasta Byerly (Ricky) and Dee Tilley (Jeff). Her grandchildren, Laura, Shana, Dylan, Amanda (Jeremy), Daysi (Alston), Macie (Cullan), Ivy (Kendall), Brandon, Maddy, Adah'Bell, and her great-grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Magnolia, Rhett, Finley, Hadley, Liam, Oliver, and Sage, will forever hold her in their hearts. Sharon is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Sharon's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hinkle Hospice House, an organization close to Sharon's heart.
