Sarah Robinson, 85, passed away October 19, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after a courageous four year battle with the stress of dialysis and heart complications. Sarah was born January 12, 1930 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Clarence A. Little and Jessie Mae Eidson Little. She was a devoted member of Christ Boulevard UMC. She loved her Sunday School class and was there any time her health allowed and would always make it a priority to help with baking those delicious cakes for the barbecue fundraisers. She retired from Uniglass Industries after 37 years of service. Left to treasure her memory are five children: James Harvey McHargue, Jr. of Autumn Care, Elaine Turner(Danny) and Theresa McHargue of Statesville, Jerry Wayne McHargue and Karen Howard (Keith) of Harmony; six grandchildren: April Elmore (Phil), James McHargue (Susie), Paul McHargue (Rachel), Angel Stanford (Keith), Chris Turner (Michelle),and Ryan Turner (fiancée Jessica); fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; two brothers: Jim and Dorman Little of Statesville and one sister Myrtle Hedrick of Conover. She was married to James Harvey McHargue who died in 1968 and later to Robert F. Robinson who died in 1983. She nurtured and cared for so many of her family and friends who preceded her in death: her brother, Robert Little and four sisters: Ella Mae Massey, Louise Sloan, Sylvia Young, and Wanda Little, and a dear friend, Gwen Horton. She taught us all what it meant to be a loving and devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. She didn’t simply declare her faith, she lived it. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, caring for grandchildren and spending time with family. A Celebration of Life for Sarah will be held at 3:00 on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church in Statesville with the Rev. Larry Thompson and Rev. Ron Doub officiating. The family will visit with friends before the service from 1:30-3:00 in the church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris and Ryan Turner, James McHargue, Phil Elmore, Keith Stanford, and Alex Young. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ruth Parsons Sunday School class. Memorials may be made to Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church at 1947 E. Broad Street, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Statesville Dialysis Center for their loving care. You all made her time with you (three times each week for almost four years) as comfortable as possible. Online condolences can be made to the family at
