Samuel "Sam" Lee Campbell

Samuel Lee Campbell, 67, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Iredell County on June 15, 1950 to the late Syvester and Hazel Jolly Campbell.
Samuel was a graduate of South Iredell High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service he graduated from Statesville Business College. Sam was a retired truck driver and loved driving a truck until his grandchildren were born. He loved spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Sam Paw.”
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Richard Campbell.
Sam is survived by his son W. Scott Campbell (Jennifer); two grandsons, Evan T. Campbell and Matthew S. Campbell; two brothers, Tom Campbell (Pat) and Tim Campbell (Belinda); sister-in-law Loyce Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
