Ruth Carole (Turner) Gaither

Mrs. Ruth Carole Turner Gaither, 77, of Troutman, passed away, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville.                 Mrs. Gaither was born April 14, 1938 in Mecklenburg County and was the daughter of the late James Harold Mesiemore, Sr. and Alma Ruth Johnson Mesiemore. She attended Troutman High School and was retired from Iredell County School Systems. On April 14, 1988, she was married to Jimmy Gaither, who survives of the home and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.                 In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Debbie Odom Hall of Troutman, two sons, George Grady Odom, Jr. of Loganville, GA, Timothy Lynn Odom of Statesville, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one brother, James Harold Mesiemore, four sisters, Louise Hobbs, Pam Dulac, Linda Dankay, Judy Gross, her beloved dog, Sammy and several nieces and nephews.                 She was preceded in death by four brothers, Mickey, Donnie, Johnny and Leroy Mesiemore.                 Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Talmedge Holler, Rev. Jerry Yarbourgh and Rev. Benny Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
