Rosalie Kennedy Burns, 77 of Statesville went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Rosalie was born January 18, 1938 in Iredell County. She was the daughter of the late Deward and Willie Mae Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Kennedy and one sister, Sue Huie. She retired in 2008 from Hunt Mfg. and Speedball Art after 41 years of service. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church. Rosalie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Billy G. Burns, one daughter, Terry Moore (Bill), two grandchildren, Taylor Moore (Haley) and Emily Coggins (Chris), and 3 precious great grandchildren, Landon and Brantley Moore and Baby Warren Coggins. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Leroy Kennedy (Kathy) and John Kennedy (Jean) and a sister-in-law, Nancy Orbison (James). Rosalie was blessed with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She also treasured her girlfriends, Marsha, Carol, Sally, Shirley and Betty. Rosalie was a loving mother and wife, always concerned about the well-being of her family. For over 30 years, she always made sure that each special day was remembered by sending cards of happy wishes and encouragement. A celebration of Rosalie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Gloryland Baptist Church, 613 Westminster Drive, Statesville. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastors Blaine Keaton and J.B. Parker, Jr. will officiate. A very special thank you to the staff of Gordon Hospice House for the loving care, compassion and comfort provided for our loved one.
