Ronald "Pops" "Red Ball" Ray Ball, age 81, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point. Born on June 15, 1941, in Guilford County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Ball and Gracie Key Ball.
Known by his family as "Pops" and known as "Red Ball" by friends, he was a former member of Community Bible Church in High Point, a member of "Let's Talk Cars" and a former member of the Rebel Rousers. He enjoyed fishing and boating and was an avid car enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gracie Ball; and brother, Beauford Ball. Those left to cherish his memory, include his wife of 10 years, Fay Rich Ball; daughters, Crystal Ball Hamby and husband, Eddie, and Cyntia Kennedy; stepdaughter, Priscilla Crowley; stepsons, Ryan Frazier and Scott Frazier; grandchildren, Chase Ball Hamby, Haley Frazier, Lindse Frazier, Shane Lee Stafford; great-grandchildren, Niklaus Frazier, Aubri Stafford and Alena Stafford; several loving foster children whom they adopted; sisters, Beatrice Hutchins and husband, Jim, and Betty Jean Ball; brother, Bobby Ball and wife, Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Casey Bradford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
