Roberta Smith

Roberta Collins Smith, 85, of Statesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Alleghany County on March 11, 1929, and was the daughter of the late William Reaves and Nannie Ruby Snyder Collins. She was a graduate of Cleveland School and she was married to Glenn Eugene Smith who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a member of ClearVision Missionary Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Patricia McCurry (Toad), Gay Pennell (Donnie), and Lynn Correll along with one son, Buddy Correll (Sherri). She is also survived by three step-children, Tim Smith, Sylvia Trivette (Ken), and Belinda Owens and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted 2:30 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at ClearVision Missionary Baptist Church, 180 S. Lackey Street, Statesville, with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:30 pm at the church. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
