Mr. Robert "Eddie" Summers

Robert Edward “Eddie” Summers, 73 of Statesville, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Summers was born in Iredell County on July 20, 1946 to the late Ralph Moit Summers and Aldenia King Summers.
Eddie was the Fire Chief at Central Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, enjoyed fishing, loved supporting his grandkids sporting events and was retired from farming.
Survivors include 5 sons; David (Lisa), Doyle (Pam), Darrell (Teresa), Danny, Donnie; 7 grandkids; Jason Travis, Tanner, Morgan, Jadyn, Taylor, Gavin; a sister, Sylvia Church (Gary); nephews, Jonathon Morrison and Jamie Morrison and the mother of his children, Barbara Summers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm at New Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Byrd officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.
