Robert Junior Dobbins

Mr. Robert Junior Dobbins, 53, of Statesville, died January 12, 2017 unexpectedly. Born in Alexander County on January 30, 1963, he was a son of Mary Emma Dobbins who survives. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, Phase 10 cards, chess, politics and was the best wheel chair roller in Statesville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Holmes. In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, David Dobbins (Barbara R.), Darnell Gamble (Lisa), Michael and Charles Gamble, and sisters: Barbara Knox (Perry), Terry Reid, Felicite Gamble, Erica Connor (Todd) and Kyra Dobbins. Also surviving are 23 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews and 2 great greats. Funeral services are scheduled for Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2016 at the Rufuge Church Of Christ in Troutman with Elder Gerry Clarke, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
