Mr. Harry Richard Sigmon, 70, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Sigmon was born January 9, 1944 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Harry Ross Sigmon and Katherine Hartline Sigmon Burrell. He attended Iredell and Mecklenburg County Schools and was an Electrician. He worked for Craftmasters in Hiddenite for 17 years and also for other heating and air conditioning companies. He loved to dance, NASCAR racing and camping at the beach and mountains. He was formerly married to Margie Anderson Sigmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Sigmon and two half siblings, Tracey Sigmon and Debbie Laughinghouse. He is survived by two sons, Dennis Paul Sigmon of Stony Point, Samuel Jason Sigmon of Savannah, GA, a brother, Lanny Sigmon of Statesville, and half brothers and sisters, David Burrell of Statesville, Brenda and JoAnn Burrell of Charlotte, Donald Burrell of Charlotte, Ron Burrell of Virginia, Tommy Burrell of Georgia, Sue Burrell Smith of Texas, Nancy Burrell Daves (Harold) of Denver, NC, James Robert Burrell of Salisbury and Pam Wooten (Dale) of Statesville. Funeral services for Mr. Sigmon will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Beckham and Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating. The burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
