Richard Edward Shew

Mr. Richard “Ritchie” Edward Shew, 52, of Statesville, passed away, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House.                 Mr. Shew was born January 15, 1964 in Iredell County to the late Richard Allen Shew and Shirley Houpe Shew, who survives of Statesville. He attended Iredell County schools and was a member of Rose Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing and playing with his dogs.                 In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Denise S. Blackwelder (Kent) of Statesville, one brother, Tim Shew of Statesville, two nieces, Kara Blackwelder of Greensboro, Tia Shew of Wilkesboro and one great nephew, Kayden Shew of Wilkesboro.                 Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30-3:00 pm at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church.
