James Reginald "Reggie" Campbell died on June 19, 2011 after an extended illness. He was born on Jan. 20, 1948, the only son of James E. and Helen Poole Campbell of Statesville. Mr. Campbell rose to international prominence in the computer and banking industries. He worked closely with Hong Kong-Shanghai Bank, China; National Westminster and the The Midland Bank, both in England; Ned Bank in Johannesburg, South Africa; Bank of Tokyo; Bank of New York and Banco de Colombia in South America. While in London, Mr. Campbell was the Executive Officer and Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Asia banking concerns. While in the United States, Mr. Campbell served as Executive Vice President at Hogan Systems, then Vice President of IBM's Global Services Division. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Douglas Campbell, and two daughters, Kimberly Campbell Egan (Brian) of San Francisco, CA; and Wendi Campbell Rogaliner (Scott) of Dallas, TX. He has four grandchildren; Brianna Douglas Egan, Jack William Rogaliner, Ava Grace Rogaliner and Grayson Scott Rogaliner and one sister, Theresa Campbell Plaster of Winston-Salem, NC. A memorial mass will be said for the departed at Christ the King Catholic Church, Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends in the home, as well as Nicholson Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville, NC. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
