Rebecca Jane Thorne Winecoff, 77, of Statesville, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Winecoff was born in Davie County on July 31, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Millard Foster Thorne, Sr. and Lucille Koontz Thorne. She attended Statesville High School and was retired from Winn Dixie as the Deli Manager. Mrs. Winecoff was a long-time member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church and a member of the We Love Sunday School Class. In 1981, she married Kenneth Reid Winecoff, Sr. who preceded her in death on December 12, 2013. She enjoyed decorating cakes, traveling and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Millard Foster Thorne, Jr., and Charles Everette Thorne. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Bradburn and Joann Abernathy, both of Statesville Annette Newton (Dan) and son, Kenneth Reid “Bo” Winecoff, Jr., (Nicole), both of Mooresville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Danielle Snow (Chris), Jared Bradburn, both of Statesville, Casey Newton (Michael), Stephanie Ingram (Jerome), Ashley Winecoff and Hannah Winecoff, all of Mooresville. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Bella Snow, Stella Snow, both of Statesville and Braylee Ingram of Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Christ Boulevard UMC with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating.
