Rebecca Ann Mayberry, 88, of Harmony, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on December 4, 1928 in Iredell County to the late Rayford R. and Jessie Thomas Mayberry. Rebecca was a graduate of Harmony High School and attended Mitchell College. She was co-owner/operator of Mayberry Store and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rebecca loved her church and was active in many roles including serving as secretary. She was a volunteer at Iredell Memorial Hospital accumulating over 3000 hours of service. Rebecca loved working in her yard and taking rides through her neighborhood in her car. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ralph. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, John Mayberry (Dorothy) of Harmony; niece, Ginger Graves (Tyson) of Raleigh; and great nephew, Zachary Graves (Rachel) of Athens, GA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Cliff Gwaltney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
