Ray Clifford Vinson, 88, of Statesville, died Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Mr. Vinson was born in Iredell County on October 29, 1930 to the late Roy M. and Clarice Clendenin Vinson.
Mr. Vinson served his country in the US Army. He was retired from Interstate Equipment as a mechanic, was a member of Elmwood Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of the Wayside Volunteer Fire Department.
On March 10, 1951 he married the former Dorothy Cline Vinson who survives. Also surviving are a son; Jeffrey Ray Vinson (Pamela) of Greensboro, NC, 2 grandchildren; Mallory Harris (John), Alex Vinson, 2 great-grandchildren; Redford Harris and Merritt Harris, and 2 sisters; Betty V. Stevenson (Bobby), and Wilma Ball.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and burial will be in the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
