Mrs. Rachel Jurney Noblitt, 78, of Statesville, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on December 27, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Archibald Campbell Jurney and Rose Long Jurney. Rachel grew up in the Snow Creek Community of Northern Iredell County, N.C. and graduated from Central High School. She loved antiques and started an antique business. She and her husband, Bill, lived in the old Nicholson Homeplace and restored it into the Tower House Antiques. She also worked for the Clerk Of Court. She and Bill lived in Florida for 15 years after retirement in The Villages. While in Florida, she developed a love for her longtime interest in travel and organized many trips with her friends and neighbors. On May 18, 1963, she married Mr. Bill Noblitt who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Allison Rose Kessinger (Derrick) of Mt. Gilead, N.C. and three grandchildren: Zachary, Anna Rose and Joshua. A celebration of Rachel’s life will be held at 3:00 Friday at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends following the service. Condolences may be sent online to the family to
