Mrs. Avery Prue Waters Fox, 90, Statesville, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at her home.�� Mrs. Fox was born August 3, 1923 in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Phate Lee Waters and Mary Lillian Snead Waters. On April 17, 1943, she was married to Paul Houston "Babe" Fox, who preceded her in death in 1999. She was formerly employed with Carolina Mills and the Statesville Record & Landmark. Mrs. Fox was a member of Landmark Church of God. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Ellis along with five sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Fox is survived by one son, Tony Houston Fox (Patsy) and two daughters, Bobbie Fox Wilson (Gale W.), both of Statesville, and Paula Fox Lutz (Johnathan) of Maiden. She is also survived by one brother, Gene Waters (Sue) of Statesville along with nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Fox will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Landmark Church of God with Rev. Dr. Ken Hudson, Rev. Ben Black, and Chaplin Brad Borders officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm Friday evening at Landmark Church of God.
