Mrs. Priscilla "Prissie" Anne Raymer Redmond, of Union Grove, NC, passed away, Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast, Concord, NC. She was born January 22, 1952 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Kenneth Loretz "Jack" Raymer, Jr. and Mildred McLain Raymer. She was educated at Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro, VA and was a graduate of UNC Charlotte. She was married to Phillip H. Redmond, who survives of the home. She served as the Director of the Four D Program of Iredell County for several years and was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. She was a partner and general manager of Phil's Food Mart and Restaurant and was also a partner of Public Oil Company. "Prissie" was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to many. She was a staple of Iredell County and the Central Community and helped anyone in need. She was faced with cancer for the second time and during this course she showed strength, dignity and faith. Her battle with cancer continued for 2 years and in that time she fought fiercely, but knew that when God called her home she was ready to serve him. She continued to help teach and guide others even in her hardest times, but helping others brought her the most joy. Family was one of the most important things to her, and this only grew over the years. She loved all her friends and family and hopes that others will find that kind of peace with God that she did. All who knew Prissie loved the kind of person she was. She portrayed compassion, love, selflessness and Godliness through both her personal and professional walk of life. Her laugh and positive attitude will truly be missed but we find great comfort in the glorious works that she will be privileged to do for God. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Matthew Redmond of Union Grove, one daughter, Ashley McLain Redmond of Union Grove, one sister, Mildred "Cissie" Berryhill of Troutman, one step-son, Phillip H. Redmond, Jr. (Nell) of Charlotte, one step-daughter, Channon R. Allison (Andrew) of Statesville, three step-grandchildren, Sarah and Rachel Redmond, and Audrey Allison. Mrs. Redmond was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John N. Berryhill. A celebration of life service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be John Massey, James Massey, Phillip Redmond, Jr., Andrew Allison, Justin Wiles and Preston Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Hill Baptist Church, to help establish the Priscilla Raymer Redmond Scholarship Fund to be used to help Medical and Healthcare Students.
