Peggy Marie Summers Poston, 75, of Statesville, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a period of declining health. Mrs. Poston was born February 16, 1938 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late William Monroe Summers and Edna Marie Sharpe Summers. Mrs. Poston was a graduate of Harmony High School and on February 1, 1958 she married Clyde Richard Poston and was married until his death in 2008. She was retired from the Record & Landmark and had previously worked for Spainhour's and Langley Processing. Mrs. Poston was also a full time homemaker and mother. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Statesville Chapter #214 Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Poston was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Summers. She is survived by two sons, David R. Poston (Dana) of Lorton, VA, and Douglas R. Poston (Nanette) of Statesville; three daughters, Karen M. Williams (Wayne) of Statesville, Alice J. McIntyre of Clemmons, NC and Christina M. Anderson (Charles) of Statesville. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother, Larry W. Summers of Statesville. Funeral services for Mrs. Poston will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Holland and Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
