Pamela Jane Bates

Pamela Jane Bates, age 67, of Statesville went to be with the Lord January 9, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
She was born January 8, 1954 in Greenfield, Massachusetts the daughter of Valerie Oickle Bonzek and the late Donald Bonzek. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Johnston; and brother, Jeffrey Bonzek.
Pamela was a compassionate, kind and strong woman who served God by serving others. She loved the Lord, was active in her church where she taught Sunday School and was a Girl Scout leader. Pamela was employed with Iredell County Council of Aging where she assisted senior citizens.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, William “Bill” Bates; daughters, Colleen Bendiksen (Kurtis) Avril Plunkett (Mike), Crystal Siedel (John); grandchildren, Robert Desorcy, Veronica Desorcy, Nick Plunkett, Eden Siedel, Corinna Plunkett; brother, Greg Bonzek (Debra), sisters, Pat Miller (Russ) and Jane Herring-Seiffet; canine companion, Bella; and numerous other loving friends and family.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
