Ola Mae Caskaddon Perry, 91, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, October 04, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on October 22, 1924 in Iredell County to the late Henry L. and Ida Estelle Waugh Caskaddon. Mrs. Perry was a graduate of Celeste Henkel School and most of her life worked in Textile Plants in the area. First being Troutman Shirt Mill and the last being Paola Cotton Mills where she was forced to retire with back problems at the age of 80. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church for many years. She loved her church and was very active until she had to stop driving in her mid- 80’s. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Charlie” Perry and his wife, Renny, who both passed away in 2014 along with four brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are one son, John Perry, Jr. (Donna) of Troutman, a daughter, Gale Moose (Bobby) of Catawba; six grandchildren, Randall Perry, Nichole Ostwalt (Brad), Crystal Atkins (Ellis), Brian Perry (Lori), Christina Brown (Sid), and Rob Moose; and six great grandchildren, Seth Ostwalt, Justin and Katelyn Brown, Ashleigh and Charleigh Atkins, Kelsen and Gracie Perry. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. H. Cowles Bristol III, Rev. Olin Isenhour and Dr. James Keever officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
