Norma Gayle (Morrison) Waugh

Norma Gayle Morrison Waugh, 74, formerly of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. Gayle was born February 23, 1943 in Iredell County to the late Dent Morrison and Louise Caudill Morrison. She was a graduate of Celeste-Henkel High School and Queens College and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She previously worked for Iredell Memorial Hospital and enjoyed cooking and feeding other people. Ms. Waugh is survived by four daughters, Jeanne Waugh Stevens of Statesville, Cheryl Waugh Hendren of Charlotte, Kristin Waugh Jacobs (john) of Statesville, Elaine Waugh Sommers (Chris) of Mooresville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Waugh, Samantha Howell (Travis), Lauren Forsyth (Nick), Kassidy Stevens, Durham Blue Hendren, Claudia Jacobs, Charlie Jacobs and Preston Sommers, along with four great grandchildren and one sister, Phyllis M. Alexander (Omer) of Stony Point. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Morrison. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Naomi King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
