Nellie Louise Walters

Louise Walters (Smith), born on June 29, 1933, in Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, in Davidson County, North Carolina. She was 91 years old.

Louise dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker, where she found joy and fulfillment in nurturing her family with love and care. Her warm and welcoming home was often filled with delicious aromas from her kitchen, as cooking was one of her greatest passions. 

In her leisure time, Louise enjoyed watching gameshows, always quick with an answer or a laugh, and found tranquility in bird watching, marveling at nature's beauty from her porch. Her gentle presence and kind spirit touched all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest J. Smith; her mother, Mary Smith; her son Gurley Lee Walters; her brother, Gene Smith; her sister, Mary Smith Hill; and her beloved grandson, Henry Shaw Gough Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Linda Faye Gough, Teresa Macemore, and Diane Macemore. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Jonathan Walser and Jennifer W. Orozco, along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Louise will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will forever remember her warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

A memorial service to celebrate Louise's life will be held at a later date.
