Nancy Voorhees, of Greensboro, age 89, passed away on December 22, 2022, at Cadence of Mooresville.
Mrs. Voorhees was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1933 and was the daughter of Frank and Marthella Sherron.
She is survived by brothers Pete and Robert Sherron and sister Patricia Sherron. She was married to George Voorhees for 46 years until his death in 2000.
They had five children, and she is survived by Karen Cox, Michael Voorhees, Julie Voorhees and Donna Weigel. She was preceded in death by her son David Voorhees. There are six surviving grandchildren, Bryan Cox, Heather Cook, Quentin Voorhees, Autumn Voorhees, Danielle Skiouris, and Hope Voorhees. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jarod Voorhees. She has two great-grandchildren, River Cook and Christina Skiouris.
Nancy was very talented in tole painting and displayed her paintings at craft shows in Georgia and North Carolina. She hosted many happy holiday and family get-togethers at her house. She was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for her children when they were growing up. In her younger days, she and her husband enjoyed waterskiing.
There are no formal services scheduled at this time.
