Nancy Jane Reynolds Hamilton, 81 of Statesville died Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Gordon Hospice House.
She was born in Washington, DC on February 13, 1940, to the late Linwood Claudius Reynolds and Margaret Louise Ball Reynolds.
Nancy attended grade school at Peter Faneuil School. She later earned her GED while residing in Florida, an accomplishment in which she was greatly proud of. Nancy had a feisty personality, earning a nickname as a “feisty friend” during her medical treatment. She never backed down from what she wanted or believed in, and loved her family dearly with her big, generous heart. She often bought Happy Meals just to get her great grandchildren toys, and often bought little things to let those she loved know she was thinking of them. For many decades she had a fondness for the Pink Tea Room at Iredell Memorial Hospital, even in her last months she would stop in daily for a treat after treatment. Nancy was strong in her faith, never wavering in her beliefs. She also loved the beach, teapots, Celtic music, animal shows, birds, and butterflies.
She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Betty Lou Hamilton Campbell and her only son, Justin Aaron Hamilton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four sisters Shirley Anne Reynolds, Joanne Reynolds Gardner of Lakewood, CO, Linda Marie Reynolds Smerdon and Kathleen Reynolds Beverly, two brothers John Michael Reynolds and Daniel Joseph Reynolds, four daughters, Sandra Kay Hamilton Kuhnemann of Charleston, SC, Jennifer Purvis McCarroll (Jerry) of Dallas, TX, Peggy Sue Hamilton Fish (Steve)of Fort Mill SC, Amy Joy Hamilton of Mexico, six grandchildren, Kristine Neely Redderson of Statesville, NC, Matthew McCarroll of Dallas, TX, Phillip Kuhnemann of Charleston, SC, Jacqueline McCarroll of New York, Aric Campbell of Escondido, CA, Anthony Meza of San Diego, CA, four great-grandchildren, Macayla Alexis Redderson, Mariah Alexis Redderson, Kristan Devlyn Redderson and Paisley Belle Redderson, all of Statesville, NC.
Private Services will be held.
