Nada Carlene Guthier

Nada Carlene Guthier, 92, passed away on September 30, 2022.

Mrs. Guthier was born June 12, 1930, to Mr. Carlos Sledge and Mrs. Eula Mealer Sledge.
Carlene enjoyed sewing, playing piano, lifting her voice in song and spending time with her family.
Carlene spent her free time studying the family's genealogy. Carlene was a devoted member of Broad
Street Church of Christ for over thirty years until lack of mobility prevented her from attending services.
Carlene is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Eula Sledge, her sister, Norma Glover, her
husband, Thomas Guthier, and granddaughter, Angela G. Burkeen.

She is survived by her brothers David Sledge of Little Rock, AR, Bobby Sledge of Sonora, CA, daughter,
Karen Burkeen of Yadkinville, NC, son, Tim Guthier of Cortland, NY, granddaughters Jade Burkeen of
Yadkinville, NC and Tasia Burkeen of Statesville, NC, grandson Timothy Burkeen of Statesville NC,
Tommy Guthier of Cortland, NY, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 7 th , 2022, at 2pm at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
