Myrtle Ethel Miller Sprinkle Ford, 95, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her residence. She was born on December 8, 1919 in Alexander County to the late William T. and Mary Alice Bunton Miller. Mrs. Ford was educated in the Alexander County Schools. On April 5, 1975, she married Johnny Leroy Ford, who survives. They had over 39 years of marriage before her passing. She retired from Kewaunee Scientific Equipment where she was a machine operator. She was a member of Mountain Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Women on Missions. She was a Great Prayer Warrior. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Sprinkle; three brothers, William "Pete", Pleas, and John Roy Miller; and five sisters, Flora M. Bunton, Dorothy M. Elliott, Mildred M. Jolly, Maggie M. Mason, and Jettie M. Branton. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Leroy; a daughter, Shirley Sprinkle Millsaps; a son, Charles Harold Sprinkle (Carolyn); and a sister, Mary Frances "Tootsie" Miller Millsaps, all of Statesville. She is further survived by five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Mountain Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Fox and Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Alexander County. The family will visit with friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the service.
