Myretay Reid

Myretay Howington Reid, 76, of Statesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Reid was born on June 3, 1935 in Richlands County, VA to the late Lem and Veenie Howington and was the last of her siblings. On December 12, 1967, she married the love of her life, Michael Carson Reid whom she adored. Mrs. Reid was very excited about upcoming births of two additional great grandchildren. She also cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren who loved her dearly. Mrs. Reid was a very caring and giving wife, a very special mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Carroll Earnest, Jr. (Debbie) of Statesville, David Earnest (Melissa) of Statesville, Steve Lowe of Statesville, Randy Reid of Stony Point, six grandchildren, Amy Johnson (Brandon), Devin Earnest (Sarah), Bradley Gibson, Brandon Earnest, Brett Earnest, Taylor Reid and four great grandchildren. She also included Kristy Inman and Lindsay Price as part of her family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Bright Light Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
