Surrounded by loved ones, Morris Ross Roseman passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC. Morris was born in Statesville, NC on September 6, 1932 to his parents Henry Ross and Sadie Adams Roseman. He graduated from Celeste Henkel High School in 1950 and served his country in the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. Morris was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Hilda Clanton Roseman, whom he married on July 4, 1953. Morris retired from the Roadway Express Trucking Company in 1994 after 25 years of service, but he never truly slowed down. He was an active member of the community, a member of the West Iredell Ruritan Club, American Legion, VFW, DAV, United Methodist Men and a lifetime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Statesville, NC where he also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Morris Roseman personified strong moral character, the benefits of hard work, family values, and patriotism. One of his most cherished activities in recent years was attending military funerals. He attended over 100 per year. Morris treasured spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His strong will, yet gentle soul will not be forgotten by anyone fortunate enough to encounter this great man, husband, father, brother, and “papaw". Preceded in death by his father, Henry Ross Roseman, mother, Sadie Adams Roseman, wife, Hilda Clanton Roseman, and Brother Joseph Roseman, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Tim Roseman (Teresa Fox), daughter, Pam Roseman King (Richard); five grandchildren, Jamie Roseman, Erica Johnson (Joe), Jason Roseman (Beth), Alisha Bolton (Shannon), John Ross King, eight great grandchildren, Taylor Bolton, Jace Fox, Sadie Bolton, Cale Bolton, Ella Johnson, Luke Johnson and Charlotte Gray Roseman; sister, Jewell Davis (Warren), brother, Quay Roseman (Charlotte) and sister in law, Jean Roseman and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Joshi, the Iredell Memorial Hospital Nursing staff, and Sherrie’s in home care for their excellent and compassionate care they provided Morris. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 2 at 5pm at Nicholson funeral home in Statesville, NC. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 3 at 3pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
